Fine line tattooing uses small needles (often a single needle) to create a thin, delicate, intricate tattoo design evoking fine artwork and paintings on the skin using black and grey ink. Fine-line artists employ more precision and focus on the design over shading, with fewer bold lines and more attention to the artistry.
A fine-line tattoo is usually softer, thinner, and lighter than traditional tattoos. At my private studio, I take pride in providing a relaxed, one-on-one, fine-line tattoo experience uniquely different from the usual high street shops and old-school parlour environments.

As with all tattoo styles, fine-line tattoos can fade over time. though all tattoos fade and some blur, you can extend the vibrance, definition, and longevity of your tattoo with some simple steps:
Follow the aftercare guidance form provided at your appointment
Allow your tattoo to heal fully
Nurture your skin with a non-fragranced moisturiser (e.g. cocoa butter)
Avoid sun exposure and always use sun protection creams/sprays
Once healed, if required, get your tattoo touched up after the first year.
Note: depending on the original design, many fine-line tattoos last for up to a decade before a touch-up is needed.

As your tattoo artist, it is important that I provide you with comprehensive information regarding the practicalities and potential risks associated with these tattoos.
The skin on your hands and fingers is unique, and tattoos in these areas may fade over time due to factors such as frequent washing and sun exposure etc.
To ensure your piece of mind, I do offer one free top-up per client for finger and hand tattoos once the tattoo has fully healed! -
After your tattoo session, I will apply a "second skin" covering to the tattooed area to safeguard it during the initial healing phase. You can continue with your daily routine while wearing the second skin, but it's best to avoid prolonged exposure to water to prevent seepage. I also recommend wearing loose clothing to minimize any irritation to your new tattoo.
You might notice some moisture and a slight blurriness on the skin underneath the second skin. This is perfectly normal and occurs as plasma and tiny ink particles are drawn up from the skin during the healing process. It's ideal to keep the second skin on for roughly 48hrs following your appointment.
When you're ready to remove it, do so gently under warm running water. If the bandage adheres to your skin, you may need to apply a little extra force to get it off, but don't worry if you see some ink fragments on the second skin - it's all part of the normal healing process! -
Once your tattoo begins to feel dry or show signs of flaking, apply a thin layer of unscented, mild lotion 3-4 times a day to keep it moisturized.
It's important to avoid intense exercise for at least two weeks, and refrain from exposing your tattoo to swimming pool water or direct sunlight for a minimum of 30 days.
I always look forward to seeing healed tattoos, so feel free to send me a high-resolution photo of your tattoo after 30 days. If any touch-ups are required once the tattoo is fully healed, I offer a complimentary session within the first six months.
